The von Krusenstierna family meets frequently. Thursday 29/5 to Sunday 1/6 the family's 12th international family reunion was held in the form of Familientag 2025 in BERLIN. The family reunion took place in an absolutely excellent location, the conference hotel Müggelseeperle, by the lake Müggelsee, about 30 kilometers SW of Berlin city center.
A total of 91 relatives, relatives and guests between the ages of 88 and 1/2 from two of the family's three branches and the nations of Sweden, Germany, the USA, Australia, Denmark, Spain, Austria and Estonia participated. As can be seen from the group photograph, a pleasingly large number of young people and younger relatives participated.
After the joint buffet dinner on the day of arrival, the participant presentation was carried out through a nice presentation bingo. Friday was dedicated entirely to the city of Berlin. The day began with a joint audio-guided tour of the Spree River including a lighter one on board, followed by three alternative guided tours on foot/bus of Berlin's most famous sights.
Saturday began with an atmospheric devotional service where the names of deceased and newly added relatives since the international family reunion in Sigtuna 2022 were read out, while a candle was lit for each one. After the devotional service, it was time for a group photo – an always exciting event. Before the closing dinner, there was plenty of time for socializing and prayer. A smaller group of interested relatives then gathered to discuss future issues, including family reunions, family letters, and keeping the genealogy up to date.
At the closing gala dinner, Dr. Elke Bauer gave a lecture about the German Krusenstiernska Archive, which was donated to the Herder Institute in Marburg/Germany a few years ago.
The evening ended with an introductory German group folk dance, followed by disco dancing well into the night. The latter meant that the farewell on Sunday morning was a bit incomplete as some slept in, others had to leave early.
Sweden will host the next international family reunion in 2029. Time to start "charging".
